This position coordinates the nursing and interdisciplinary team for daily patient care assignments.Specific Duties1) Place Peripheral Lines for new patients and provide education on medication regime, and document in Medical Record (Cerner Training preferred). 2) Experience placing Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter’s (PICC lines), or willing to learn and complete the education course for insertion within 6 months. 3) Chemotherapy certified, or willing to get certified within 6 months. 4) Follow the five rights of medication administration with physician’s order. 5) Critical thinking on wound care and the management of wounds. 6) Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.7) Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.8) Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice.9) Critical-Thinking Skills: Infusion nurses will need to assess a patient's health, as well as detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and will need to know when action is necessary.10) Attention to Detail: Infusion nurses administer medicines and work with specific treatments that, if wrong could prove fatal. Attention to detail is crucial.11) Organizational Skills: Infusion nurses will face multiple patients, with differing needs, stages of health and risks. The RRT will perform in adult and new born intensive care and acute care service areas.     • Polysomnographic Trainee
      A Polysomnographic Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under direct supervision of a Polysomnographic Technician or a Polysomnographic Technologist. Job Responsibilities and Duties:- Verifies the medical order and protocol.- Completes and verifies documentation.- Explains the procedure and orients the patient to the Sleep Center. - Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning. - Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. - Performs appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals. - Performs routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting. - Participates in equipment care and maintenance. - Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. - Follows procedural protocols (i.e. Multiple Sleep Latency Test, Maintenance of Wakefulness Test) to ensure collection of appropriate data. - Follows lights out procedures to establish document baseline values (i.e. body position, respiratory, heart rate, etc.). - Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identifies and reports signal abnormalities. - Documents routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. - Assists with appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention). - Follows lights on procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (i.e. repeats physiological and instrument calibrations, instructs the patient on completing questionnaires, etc.).- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Education & Experience:High school diploma or GED plus 6-months of direct patient care experience required. One year of post-secondary education or RPGST or RRT SDS preferred. Current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis on Polysomnography preferred. Current CPR or BCLS certification required, but can be obtained upon hire. This is an entry level position and training is available upon hire.Qualifications:Must be able demonstrate effective written and interpersonal communication skills; appropriate social skills, and the ability to follow directions. In addition, be self-motivated and willing to work as needed.
